There are at least three ways friends of Israel can invest in Israel:
Invest in good: Opportunities to do good abound in Israel; to help feed Israel’s poor, to help protect Israel’s children, to help provide a warm jacket, a candy bar – even a higher education to Israel’s protectors.
Invest in the future: Per capita, Israel is ranked first in the world in business start-ups, R&D investment and quality of its scientific research institutions. Israel ranks second in the world for availability of qualified scientists and engineers and second in terms of total public expenditure on education as a percentage of GDP (IMD Global Competitiveness Yearbook 2012) and providing multinationals with an exceedingly professional and skilled labor market. Five Israelis have won Nobel Prizes within the last five years in the fields of chemistry and economics. Israel is the second most educated country in the world, says a report released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). According to the OECD’s Education at a Glance 2011 report, 78% of the money invested in education in Israel is taken directly from public funds, while 45% of Israel’s population has a university or college diploma.
